Dr. Hernandez Garcia is a highly experienced and renowned specialist in structural heart interventions, especially the percutaneous aortic valve replacement TAVI.

After completing his medical studies at the University of Malaga in 1977, he continued his specialty training in Malaga to receive the title of interventional cardiologist in 1982.
​
Since 1996 he has been chief of the interventional cardiology unit at the University Hospital Virgen de la Victoria in Malaga, where he participated in numerous clinical scientific studies and published more than hundred scientific articles in prestigious international cardiology magazines.
​
He has dedicated the last years of his professional activity to structural heart disease and the development of structural interventions. His main areas of expertise are the minimally invasive valvular procedures, percutaneous aortic valve insertions (TAVI) and the percutaneous mitral valve repair (Mitraclip), as well as the occlusion of the left auricular appendage (LAAO).
